Lunar Eclipse Ritual
For this Full Lunar Eclipse on November 8, 2022, I had a lot of interest in the session that I am offering, but not everyone can afford the high fee associated with it, so I wanted to give you some guidelines, information, and ideas to create a session that you can do on your own.
For as long as I can remember, I have always tried to teach independence from me. As a personal trainer for 25 years, it was always my goal to provide you with the how and why of things so that you can do it on your own should you ever choose to or need to.
While I am not super consistent with that in this business, I do want to do better with it. Be patient with me, I work 2 full time jobs.
Okay so let’s get to it.
Basics:
Energetic cleanse
Grounding
Release what I need to release
Work with/feed each chakra
Work with each of the senses
Work with/honor each element (Earth, Air, Water, Fire)
Clearly define and visualize what I want to create/manifest/expand/change
Overview of the Elements:
Earth- Keep the Silence, to be
Keywords: Luxury, security, career, finances, manifestation
Sense: Touch
Chakra: Root (1st)
Direction: North
Water-To dare, to feel
Keywords: Love, emotion, memory, feeling
Sense: Taste
Chakra: Sacral (2nd) and Heart (4th)
Direction: West
Fire- To forge, to will, to do
Keywords: Passion, will (determination), transformation, strength

Chakra: Solar Plexus (3rd)

Air- To know.

Chakra: Throat (5th), 3rd eye (6th), Crown (7th)

How do I use the information?
In order to know how to best use the information and what to actually do, you have to know what you want to achieve. You don’t have to know HOW you will get the goal, but you will want to know the goal. I advise you to consider how you want to FEEL above all else. You may THINK that you know how to get the feeling and set out to achieve a goal that doesn’t end up with the feeling you wanted.
For example, I may THINK that buying a farmhouse as a vacation house is the answer to my need for nature, privacy, spiritual recharge, and unplugging, but have I really opened my mind to consider all of the other ways I could potentially achieve these things? Have I allowed the universe an opportunity to speak to me and show me options? (This is a real-life scenario for me by the way).
You may want to make more money and you think that a specific job or job position would be the answer, and you may think that certain things must happen to get that job, so you start to set all of your goals around that job. What if the Universe is repeatedly offering you a better job? My advice, ask for the thing you really want, not your interpretation of how to get it. What you want is? job security, high salary, financial freedom, financial security, benefits, health insurance, or whatever it is. That is the thing you want so ask for THAT not the job that you think is the answer.
Okay so let’s get started.
Step 3: Brain Dump – I use this as a way to just unload my mind, my head, my brain, whatever. Just get all the shit out so I can have a clearer mind.
Idea 1- I was taught a version of this by a shaman and I am sure I will be butchering it a bit in trying to simplify it, but honestly, I have spent my life learning from as many people as possible and then taking what I can to make it work for me.
Find a stick or stone - (Earth element)- Sit in silence with this stick for a bit, and then just tell it everything that is on your mind, pass to it every feeling, emotion, tear, frustration, anger, everything. Just pour out all of your ideas, your words, your incoherent thoughts, every name that comes to mind, every thought. It is most powerful to speak out loud, but if you cannot, then you can do it silently. I will give you an idea to use for silent brain dumping next.
Now take this stick and put it into a fire, bury it in the earth, or throw it into a moving body of water (not a pond or fountain). If you cannot get rid of your stick safely in one of these ways, don’t use this method. If using a rock, DO NOT put it in a fire.
You can do this by using a candle and then burning the candle, I have used the candle method in client sessions before.
Idea 2- Brain dump on paper. I have used this soooooo many times for myself and clients. It is an easy one to do inside and for sessions.
Use a piece of paper and just write until nothing else comes out. Don’t journal, write words, write phrases, write names, write emotions, write them on top of each other, just write and write. It turns into an unreadable mess oftentimes. It doesn’t matter. Just pour the emotion and the words, thoughts, etc. onto the paper. Do it for longer than you think is necessary. Keep writing.
When you finish, if you can burn this, burn it in a fire safe spot, preferably outside so you don’t set off smoke alarms. I literally set off smoke alarms in my apartment weekly because of some ritual I am trying to do. I have learned that ripping this paper up and burning it a few pieces at a time can be helpful.
If you cannot safely burn, then bury it in the earth.
Ideas:
Earth:
Grounding with the tree of life
Brain dump with stick or stone
Meditation (keep the silence)
Sense of Touch- Earth likes luxury and feel-good items- wear a luxurious robe, sleep in your best bedding, get a massage. I like when I can honor the earth element by giving myself pleasure.
Honor the Earth- Do something for mother earth. This is not always easy to do, but ideas are: Plant a tree, plant some herbs, pick up some litter (that is very easy). I say a prayer for Mother earth and give gratitude for all that she provides me.
Water:
Spiritual bath
Make eclipse water-Leave tap water out under the moon from sundown to sunrise, then drink the water in the morning or bathe in it.
Walk in the ocean
Sense of Taste- Try something new or eat something you love, try a blind tasting with your partner. I do a tasting with fruit with clients, and they almost always get the fruits wrong. I ask them to describe them, not identify them, but most don’t listen, and they try to identify. It is amazing how wrong people are when they cannot see it.
Fire:
Use candles to light the room
Use fire to burn your brain dump stick or paper
Light a bonfire if you are able to and if you are, I am so jealous. I crave that.
Sense of Sight- Go to an art museum or look through galleries online of whatever you find beautiful, I think it is fun to find galleries of things that are highly magnified and try to figure out what they are or looking at things in slow motion. I think that is my favorite thing. It changes the way you see things.
Air:
Dance- Movement
Spoken word- Read poetry out loud or sing
Ring bells or windchimes
Do breathwork
Sense of smell and hearing- You can combine smell and taste, you can burn incense which is an air element, hearing comes in with singing. You can listen to a piece of music and try to DESCRIBE pieces of the music; how does it feel in your body when you hear it?
